Meet Lori Kein.

Lori Klein is a passionate nonprofit leader dedicated to enhancing the lives of others, strengthening communities, creating transformational change, and making a difference in the world. She has worked as a professional in the Jewish nonprofit community for over 30 years. Lori has extensive experience in strategic planning, program development and management, program evaluation, grant making, fundraising, volunteer management, mentoring, and organizational and board development.

Lori has served in various leadership, programming, consulting, and coaching positions in the Jewish community, including as the Vice President, Center for Designed Philanthropy at the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles, as the Associate Chief Program Officer and as Senior Vice President, Caring for Jews in Need at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, and as the Associate Director of the Zelikow School of Jewish Nonprofit Management at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Lori has written, presented, and facilitated conversations on navigating the generational divide in Jewish nonprofits.

In 2010, the Jewish Communal Professionals of Southern California honored Lori with a mentorship award and HUC-JIR awarded her an honorary doctorate in Jewish Nonprofit Management in 2016.

Lori earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UCLA, a master’s degree in social work from USC, and a master’s degree in Jewish communal service from HUC-JIR.
